Print this free test page on any Brother printer to check nozzles, colour, alignment and text in one sheet — it works with every Brother model, from DCP and MFC inkjets to HL laser machines.
Print a Brother test page from the printer
- 1Load plain paper and make sure the machine shows Ready.
- 2On inkjet models (DCP/MFC): press Menu or Settings → Maintenance (or Ink) → Test Print → Print Quality.
- 3On laser models (HL/DCP/MFC): press Menu → Machine Information / Print Reports → Print Settings, or press Go three times quickly on models with a Go key.
- 4The machine prints its test — check that the colour or black blocks are solid, with no white lines.
- 5If quality is poor, use Maintenance → Improve Print Quality (inkjet) or reseat the toner and drum (laser), then reprint.
From a computer, open Brother iPrint&Scan or the printer driver’s Maintenance tab and choose Test Print, or on macOS open System Settings → Printers & Scanners → your Brother → Options & Supplies → Utility.
