Frequently asked questions

How do I print a Canon test page without a computer?

On PIXMA and MAXIFY models with a screen, choose Setup → Maintenance → Nozzle Check. On models without a screen, hold the Stop/Resume (△) button until the lamp flashes once, then release — the nozzle-check page prints straight from the printer.

Why does my Canon test page print blank?

Most often the printhead is clogged or a cartridge (often the pigment black PGBK) is empty or still has its tape on. Run Maintenance → Cleaning, check ink levels and reseat the cartridges, then reprint. A dried-out head may need Deep Cleaning.

How do I run a Canon nozzle check from the printer?

Load plain paper, then choose Setup or Home → Maintenance → Nozzle Check → OK, or hold Stop/Resume until the lamp flashes once on screenless models. Compare the printed grid — gaps mean a clog to clean.

What does the Canon nozzle-check pattern show?

It prints a fine grid for each ink so you can see which nozzles fire. A complete, unbroken pattern means clear nozzles; white lines or missing blocks point to a clog or an empty colour that Cleaning usually fixes.

Does this test page work with my Canon model?

Yes. The sheet is universal and prints identically on every Canon PIXMA, MegaTank, MAXIFY and imageCLASS — inkjet or laser. Just print it from your browser at 100% scale.
